Bennett Pascal (b. 2003) is a self-taught mixed-media artist based in Evanston, Illinois. Using found media, spray paint, acrylic, and oil pastel, he makes densely layered work about memory, identity, and human connection.
His practice moves between collage-built environments and more geometric, pop-influenced paintings. Across both, Bennett uses bold color, advertisements, comics, text, and familiar cultural imagery to explore how experiences, ambition, consumer pressure, and outside forces shape ourselves.
Bennett often collects images from different decades, countries, cities, and environments, then brings them together to form a single shared world. If fragments so different from one another can become something cohesive, perhaps the same is possible in the world…
Bennett never begins with a finished image in mind. He lets one discovery lead to another, gradually finding the composition as he works. This allows meaning and context to develop naturally rather than forcing the materials to fit a predetermined idea.
